What happens to your details
This site does not track you. It uses no cookies, no analytics and no advertising, and it has no forms. It collects nothing.
Who is responsible
This website is run for the author who writes as Maisie MacDonald. Maisie MacDonald is a pen name. The author can be reached at maisie@secretsocialworker.com.
What is collected, and why
Nothing is collected by the website.
If you write to the address above, this is what is kept:
| When you | What is kept | Why | For how long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Send an email | Your email address and what you wrote | To read it and reply | Up to twelve months |
| Ask to be an advance reader | Your email address and what you wrote | To choose readers and send the book | Until three months after publication |
Your details are never sold, swapped or passed to anybody else for their own use. Nobody is added to a mailing list for having written.
Who handles it
The site is hosted by Netlify. Its servers may keep standard logs, such as IP addresses, for a short time for security. Email is handled by the site’s email provider.
The 2015 archive
The archive pages imitate a blog from 2015. The visitor counter, the adverts and the comments on those pages are part of the fiction. They do not track anything and nobody can post a comment.
Your rights
You can ask to see what is held about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. Write to maisie@secretsocialworker.com and it will be done within a month.
If you are unhappy with how your details have been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
